Bundanon Trust Artist-in-Residence Program

Applications for 2017 closed on 24 June 2016. We will notify applicants of the outcome in September 2016.

Applications for 2018 residencies will open in April 2017.

Our Artist-in-Residence program is open to professional artists and thinkers from all disciplines, individually or in groups. We support new work, research and collaborations by Australian and international artists, and we host them in purpose-built studios on our Shoalhaven River properties on the south coast of New South Wales.

The Artist-in-Residence program at the Bundanon site was initiated in 1993 and is the largest such program in Australia, hosting around 300 artists each year on both our Bundanon and Riversdale sites. The properties are Arthur Boyd’s gift to the Australian people, and his vision for Bundanon was to provide an inspirational haven for artists to pursue their practice.

The program attracts diverse contemporary artists and thinkers from both within Australia and overseas. Located in a rich natural and cultural environment on a working property on the Shoalhaven River, our residencies are an excellent opportunity for artists to refresh, refocus and perhaps make unexpected connections with other artists in residence.

Most artists come to Bundanon through our annual open call. Each year we call for applications for the following calendar year. The applications are assessed by industry experts
