Summer Media Arts Camps for Youth, CSIF, Calgary, Register Now!!

The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers is excited to announce that the year 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of CSIF’s Summer Media Arts Camps (SMAC). Many local, national, and international filmmakers held a camera for the first time at this camp and have gone on to have careers in the film industry.

CSIF has 3 camps this summer: one for 12 -14YRS, one for 15 – 18YRS, and one for 12 – 18YRS.

The SMACs introduce youth to the filmmaking process. Participants will learn the basics of taking a movie from script to screen in intensive, hands-on, collaborative workshops. This excellent introduction to the art of film production will see participants write, direct, shoot, and edit a film.

Upon completion, their film will be premiered at a gala screening at the CSIF, where participants and the public are invited to attend.
