Call for Submissions: ACAD + ATB At Stephen Ave ArtVault

DEADLINE: Wednesday, October 4, 2017

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: ACAD + ATB EXHIBITION AT STEPHEN AVE ARTVAULT

Mental health is something that touches all of our lives, whether we, or someone close to us are directly afflicted. Mental illness takes many forms, but can be described as disorders that affect a person’s mood, thinking and behavior. As an advocate of mental health, ATB is committed to supporting its community in opening communication channels surrounding mental illness. In light of this, the Fall exhibition will be titled “In the Balance” and will relate to the idea of struggling with mental illness while trying to find balance.

This is a paid opportunity, observing CARFAC guidelines, open exclusively to current ACAD students and Alumni (preference given to emerging artists with limited professional experience). Creatives are asked to consider how mental illness affects those suffering and their inner circles of support. What emotions arise in illness or recovery and how does this impact their community? How can we support those suffering from mental illness and how can we reduce the associated stigma?

An honorarium ranging from $250 per piece to $2500 for a full site installation will be paid (multiple works displayed together will be considered one) and artists are encouraged to list their work for commercial intent. Selected work(s) must be available by October 23, 2017, must be accompanied by business cards and will remain on display until February 2018.
